What stays on your device

By default, everything you enter stays in local storage on your phone and is never sent anywhere:

• Your name, if you choose to enter one.
• Your hill fitness level and which winter skills you have.
• Which Munros you have ticked off.
• Whether you have completed the intro.

This is what All Munros uses to judge whether a route is within your limits in the forecast conditions. Deleting the app removes all of it.

If you create an account

An account is optional and only needed for the social features — comparing tallies with friends, shared trips, and trip photos. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. If you do, the following is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase:

• Your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives us) and display name.
• Your list of climbed Munros, so it syncs across your devices.
• Who you follow and who follows you.
• Trips you create or join, and their members.
• Photos you choose to upload to a trip.

Location

All Munros can use your location to find Munros near you. This is optional, is only requested while you are using the app, and is used on your device to sort the list — your coordinates are not stored on our servers. If you decline, you can type a town or postcode instead and everything else keeps working.

Motion

All Munros watches the motion sensor for a deliberate shake, which is the shortcut for reporting a bug from whatever screen you are on. It is used for nothing else.

Diagnostics and bug reports

Please read this one properly — it is the only thing All Munros sends automatically.

If the app crashes, or if you shake your phone to report a bug, All Munros sends a report to a server run by the developer. That report includes a screenshot of the screen you were on, the app version, your device model and OS version, and any note you type. If the screen you were on showed your name or your hill profile, that will be visible in the screenshot.

These reports are used only to find and fix bugs. They are not used for advertising or profiling and are not shared with anyone else. If you would rather not send one, do not shake the phone and do not submit the crash prompt.

Weather forecasts

To grade a route for today, All Munros requests a mountain forecast for that summit's coordinates from Open-Meteo. The request contains the mountain's location, not yours, and carries no account or device identifier.

Maps and terrain

3D terrain is built from open elevation tiles and satellite imagery, and routes are traced from OpenStreetMap data. Terrain and imagery are downloaded as plain files; no personal data is attached.

What All Munros does not do

• No advertising and no ad identifiers.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
• No tracking you across other apps or websites.

Deleting your data

If you have an account, Settings → Account → Delete account permanently removes your profile, your synced Munro list, your follows, your trips and your photos from our database. Deleting the app from your phone removes everything held on the device. The two are independent — if you only delete the app, any account data stays until you delete the account.

Children

All Munros is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal data we hold about you. The delete-account control above does this immediately; for anything else, email us and we will respond.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the new version will be posted here.
